Frans Masereel, a Flemish woodcut artist, is generally considered to be the original graphic novelist. Between 1917 and 1972 he published dozens of 'wordless novels in pictures'. This collection breathes new life and vivid colors into Masereel's silhouettes via the spectral lens of the Hubble telescope.
